Leonardo delivered its 10th search and rescue helicopter to Norway as part of a 16 vehicle agreement in 2013.

Leonardo confirmed that it has provided the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security with its 10th AW101 All-Weather Search and Rescue (AWSAR) helicopter.
The recent announcement formed part of an agreement between Leonardo and the Ministry for the delivery of 16 aircraft. The final batch of helicopters are being manufactured in Yeovil, UK.
Leonardo confirmed that the Royal Norwegian Air Force’s 330 squadron has undertaken some 200 flight hours in the aircraft, typically on search and rescue missions.
Test pilot for the helicopter Lee Evans noted that the equipment was an important tool in these missions.
“The AW101 NAWSARH is simply the most capable long range search and rescue helicopter on the planet. In the most extreme conditions it can utilise the range and onboard suite of integrated ‘latest generation’ sensors to reach, find, rescue, care for and recover survivors back to safety,” Evans said.
