The plan honours the principles of reconciliation by contributing to the empowerment and advancement of Indigenous communities, the company has announced.

Under the RAP, KBR outlined the company will honour reconciliation and foster innovation by developing strategies to create meaningful relationships, opportunities, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The plan is centred on three key elements, including cultural awareness and respect, employment and economic opportunities, and community engagement.

The company is set to improve cultural awareness and respect by further enhancing the training delivered under the previous Reflect RAP, encouraging staff to respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures histories and contributions.

KBR announced it would further strive to improve opportunities for Indigenous Australians, developing initiatives to advance Indigenous employment and engagement with Indigenous-owned suppliers.

It will then engage with Indigenous communities and organisations to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural heritage preservation.

“The Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan demonstrates our commitment to meaningful reconciliation and fostering innovation,” Todd Phillips, KBR’s National Indigenous Engagement manager, said.

“We recognise the importance of working collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and are dedicated to creating lasting positive change.

“This plan serves as a roadmap for our organisation to drive tangible actions and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.”
