Elbit Systems Australia appoints new chief executive officer

An experienced defence sector professional has been appointed chief executive officer of Elbit Systems Australia.

An experienced defence sector professional has been appointed chief executive officer of Elbit Systems Australia.

Anna Barba has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Elbit Systems Australia, following a rigorous selection process.

She joins the company having served in leadership, engineering, and program delivery roles over a career spanning three decades. This includes leading multidisciplinary teams as part of a multinational defence contractor delivering for the Commonwealth of Australia, the UK Ministry of Defence, French Armed Forces, and the Royal Canadian Navy.

Barba holds a masters in science of project management, a postgraduate qualification in systems engineering information technology, and a bachelor of accounting and business management.

She has a particular interest in the maritime domain, having supported the sustainment of some of the Royal Australian Navy’s most important capabilities.

As part of her new appointment, she will drive new business in Australia, working closely with the board.

“I am delighted that Anna is joining us to drive the next phase of growth in Elbit Systems of Australia. Her proven skills in leadership, relationship building, and complex program delivery will be critical in delivering Elbit’s ambitious growth and diversification plans,” acting chair Air Vice-Marshal (Ret’d) Kym Osley AM CSC, said.

Barba welcomed the appointment.

“I look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for Elbit Systems of Australia to deliver Elbit’s market-leading products into the Australian market,” she said.
