According to a release from the two companies, the event emphasises the Commonwealth’s Regional Maintenance Provider East (RMP East) opportunity and provides a pathway for local industry to collaborate with Babcock and A&P Australia’s maritime solutions.

Head of customer solutions at Babcock Craig Schwartz explained that combining the individual company’s supply chains will help ensure the success of the Future Maritime Sustainment Model.

“Babcock and A&P are proud to host an important event that connects a range of industry players, considering the major current and planned developments in the defence maritime sector,” he said.

“Our current valued supply chain and future solution providers are at the core of delivering a truly national capability for the sustainment of the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) warships.

“Through your contributions and support, we can deliver a superior and highly competitive solution through RMP East to grow sovereign capability, supporting SMEs and primes to continue their service for the RAN.”

The event has been billed as an opportunity to provide feedback to both companies, with A&P Australia’s managing director Scott Willey noting that suppliers will be given dedicated time to ask questions to the company.

“We want to engage with current suppliers and future solution providers to further our understanding of their offerings and how we can improve collaboration to enhance the value provided to Navy and CASG,” he said.

“Babcock and A&P have a proud history of including local suppliers to deliver for Navy and we are committed to providing opportunities for suppliers to grow as we grow.”

According to a release from the companies, an industry questionnaire will be released at the end of the event in order to enable attendees to communicate their perspectives and how the companies can support them in the delivery of the Future Maritime Sustainment Model.
