The new appointee joined Shoal Group from REDARC Electronics, where he has served as general manager, defence sales, since September 2020.

He also previously held account management roles at QinetiQ Australia, serving across the emerging projects and test and evaluation divisions.

In total, Hartas holds over 25 years of experience in the technology intensive industries, where he has championed the introduction of systems engineering.

He has also worked with cross functional teams to align strategy, business capture, delivery, and governance.

“Mike has extensive experience in driving successful programs and teams across multiple national domains,” Shaun Wilson, CEO and founder of Shoal, said.

“His skill set is a complementary fit that will continue to drive Shoal’s culture of innovation, and technical and engineering excellence.”

Hartas welcomed the opportunity to assume a leadership role at Shoal Group, which he has previously advised on a range of projects, from armoured vehicle design to space launch operations.

“My focus will be on listening to our customers and project stakeholders to ensure we can deliver them the best outcome,” he said.

“I look forward to working with the Shoal team at this exciting time in our future growth.”
