Japanese telecommunications giant NTT Corporation has announced its role in strengthening US cyber defence, becoming a member of the Joint Cyber Defence Collaborative (JCDC).

The JCDC was created by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in 2021 as a way of strengthening US defence planning through public and private sector planning and collaboration. Participants include organisations both in the US and worldwide, unified against the threat of cybercrime.
The JCDC's initial partners included the likes of Amazon Web Services, AT&T, Crowdstrike, Mandiant, Google Cloud, Lumen, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and Verizon. In the year and a half since it was created, a wealth of new organisations have become members.
NTT's partnership will provide the JCDC with additional resources and information to reinforce the cyber planning of member organisations and nations.
NTT has a wealth of experience in the cybersecurity sector, with strong consumer offerings in Threat Intelligence, Security Operation Centres, consulting and more. It is a top 5 global technology and business solutions provider, operates in over 80 countries and delivers services to over 190.
“Based on our existing collaborative and trusted relationship with CISA and the U.S. government, we are honored to join the JCDC bringing a unique perspective from Asia and sharing NTT's global experience and deep expertise in leadership and security," said NTT President and CEO, Akira Shimada.
In return, the NTT will receive information from other JCDC members, strengthening its own offerings as organisations worldwide unify against the cyber threat.
"While the global cybersecurity environment will remain uncertain for the foreseeable future, collaboration among cybersecurity industry leaders and government leaders is needed not only in the U.S. but also internationally to protect against cyberattacks that threaten the critical infrastructure systems upon which our daily lives depend.”
