The Australian Defence Industry Awards are an unparalleled program that identifies the top businesses and professionals in the defence industry across Australia.

Recognising people and businesses rather than products and platforms, the awards acknowledge all defence industry stakeholders — including primes, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), academic institutions, and associations, as well as top-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, technicians, and academics.

There are 10 individual 19 group award categories for entrants to choose from this year. Click here to view the categories.

Individual categories include Academic of the Year, Female Defence Leader of the Year, Indigenous Defence Leader of the Year, and Technician of the Year.

Group categories include Aerospace Business of the Year, AIC Champion of the Year, Land Business of the Year, and Veteran Support Program of the Year.

The awards are open to all businesses operating in Australia supporting the defence supply chain and have become a coveted accolade for organisations and professionals.

By winning an award, organisations could elevate and distinguish themselves from their competitors when attracting and retaining the best talent and strengthen their position when winning defence projects or contracts.

Recognition of individuals on a national stage could underpin their career advancement.

Judged by a panel that includes former senior Australian Defence Force leaders, academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, an Australian Defence Industry Award is a peer-reviewed recognition of your capabilities in defence and passion for propelling the industry forward. With the defence industry now established as a fundamental segment of Australia’s capabilities, winning an award solidifies the role of organisations and individuals in advancing the industry.

“The Australian Defence Industry Awards is our opportunity to recognise the best and the brightest in defence industry — whether you’re an SME, a high performer in a prime or an academic that strives to support our national security ecosystem,” editor of Defence Connect Liam Garman said.

This is an opportunity for those who excel in defence industry to take centrestage and gain unparalleled recognition for the work that they do to make defence industry one of Australia’s most innovative and dynamic industries.

I look forward to seeing all of our finalists on the night and toasting their accomplishments for the year!”
