DEWC Services, Port Adelaide FC partner to support ADF veterans

Australian-owned C4ISREW provider DEWC Services has confirmed that it has partnered with Port Adelaide’s charity arm, Power Community Limited, to support its ADF Veterans Program.

Australian-owned C4ISREW provider DEWC Services has confirmed that it has partnered with Port Adelaide’s charity arm, Power Community Limited, to support its ADF Veterans Program.

The ADF Veterans Program brings former Australian Defence Force personnel and ex-AFL players together for a six-week program to improve wellbeing in a life after service, under Port Adelaide’s charity arm, Power Community Limited.

It allows the groups, which have similar experiences working in driven and elite environments, to learn from each other as they commence new careers.

During the six-week program, past and present Port Adelaide players, professionals, and local organisations will host sessions, including goal setting, leadership and mental health and wellbeing.

It has been confirmed that DEWC Services will support the program with funding to ensure that the program can continue delivering for the community, grow and even create an alumni network.

DEWC Services chief executive officer Allan Dundas explained how the unique skill sets of the veteran community have been invaluable to the company.

“Veterans are the backbone of our company. They are driven by a profound sense of purpose to serve the nation, and in their civilian work at DEWC Services, they are given the opportunity to continue to make an impact by helping strengthen Australia’s sovereign Defence capabilities to protect our servicemen and women,” Dundas said.

“We are passionate about supporting veterans in their transition to the civilian workforce by understanding their career aspirations, leveraging their transferable skills, providing meaningful work, and supporting their wellbeing.”

DEWC Services was founded and is owned and operated by an Air Force veteran.

Community programs team leader Will Northeast welcomed the opportunity to partner with DEWC Services, recognising how the funding will support the ongoing growth and development of the program.

“We are delighted to partner with DEWC Services to expand the reach and impact of the ADF Veterans program,” Northeast said.

“We’ve currently got a waitlist for the 2024 intake, and this funding will enable us to grow the programs to ensure we can effectively meet this demand in future years while also diversifying the curriculum and ensure we’re delivering a program that continues to address the needs of veterans in our state.

“DEWC Services is equally committed to providing veterans the support they need to successfully transition into civilian life, and that’s provided the perfect platform for a partnership.”
