A release from NIOA said, "Randy is introduced to NIOA as a leader and subject matter expert on explosives, safe explosive operations, weapons and firearms regulatory control.

"This addition to the NIOA team will ensure that NIOA continues to deliver industry leading safe and compliant solutions for our Defence and commercial customers alike."

Biddle's initial career was with the Australian Defence Force, where he worked with artillery and the storage of explosive ordnance and ammunition, and also as a technical trade supervisor in the avionics and technical field.

Upon leaving the ADF, he worked as a weapons licensing officer in the Weapons Licensing Branch of Queensland Police Service (QPS), ensuring that new weapon laws and licensing was properly implemented.

He then moved into the position of senior explosives licensing officer and acting manager at the Department Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI).

Finally, Biddle worked as Asia-Pacific compliance and regulatory affairs manager at Dyno Nobel Asia Pacific, a role he has held since 2011.
