Last chance to enter the inaugural Australian Defence Industry Awards

Submissions for Defence Connect’s Australian Defence Industry Awards are flowing in, so get your nominations in ahead of entry nominations closing at the end of this week.

Submissions for Defence Connect’s Australian Defence Industry Awards are flowing in, so get your nominations in ahead of entry nominations closing at the end of this week.

To be held in September at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra, the Australian Defence Industry Awards – supported by principal partner KBR – will showcase the depth of talent in Australia’s defence industry while affirming its essential role in supporting national security and driving innovation, economic growth and workforce development.

Defence Connect is encouraging companies, academic institutions, industry organisations and individuals to get their nominations in ahead of this Friday’s deadline.

This inaugural awards platform is designed to recognise the professionals and organisations, the awards cover 30+ categories focusing on all facets of the defence industry.

Categories cover primes, SMEs, academic institutions and associations through to high-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, technicians and academics.

Phillip Tarrant, director at Defence Connect, said the program has been created to reflect the comprehensive role of defence industry as a fundamental input to capability.

"I encourage all defence businesses and professionals to nominate for the awards. Recognition will not only help you stand out in a competitive field and highlight your experience delivering high-level defence programs, you’ll also gain acknowledgement for your contribution to strengthening Australia’s national security," Tarrant said.

"Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this ground-breaking initiative and put your peers, colleagues or yourself forward for these coveted accolades."

All businesses operating in this sector of the defence industry are encouraged to make a submission irrespective of size, geographic location or revenue. The category is open to primes, large defence firms and SMEs irrespective of whether they contract direct to the Department of Defence or support through sub-contracting arrangements with other defence industry participants.

Submitting businesses could include facilities management companies; civil construction organisations building or expanding defence bases; security; repair and maintenance businesses; financial, property and travel services companies; or catering and cleaning businesses.

Defence Connect's Australian Defence Industry Awards turns the focus to the leading professionals and businesses, rather than products and platforms. The Australian Defence Industry Awards universally acknowledges all defence industry stakeholders – from our primes, SMEs, academic institutions and associations, through to high-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, technicians and academics.

Don't miss the opportunity to have your organisation and team members recognised in what will quickly become the leading defence industry awards in the country. Make your submission for the inaugural Australian Defence Industry Awards here.
