Following a round of fierce competition, the finalists for the inaugural Defence Connect Australian Defence Industry Awards have been announced, recognising the breadth of experience, talent and capability from across Australia’s defence industry.

With a little over a month before the inaugural Australian Defence Industry Awards is hosted in partnership with KBR, Defence Connect can reveal an exceptional field of 240 finalists shortlisted from over 600 submissions representing 150 companies.

Phillip Tarrant, director at Defence Connect, welcomed the response to the inaugural Australian Defence Industry Awards, saying, "The defence industry has got right behind the awards, with 240 finalists shortlisted from over 600 nominations representing over 150 companies."

This inaugural awards platform is designed to recognise professionals and organisations, and covers 30+ categories focusing on all facets of the defence industry.

Categories cover primes, SMEs, academic institutions and associations through to high-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, technicians and academics.

The full list of finalists can be here.

"This is an extraordinary vote of confidence for Australia’s defence industry and representative of the depth of talent we have in our sector – I would like to thank each of the entrants for their submissions and wish all the finalists the best of luck," Tarrant added

The winners will be announced at a black-tie gala dinner on Thursday, 26 September at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
