Air defence, anti-stealth radar on show in Beijing

Air defence, anti-missile, and anti-stealth advanced radar systems have been put on display at the 10th World Radio Detection and Ranging Expo in Beijing.

Air defence, anti-missile, and anti-stealth advanced radar systems have been put on display at the 10th World Radio Detection and Ranging Expo in Beijing.

The China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) showcased several systems at the expo and 3rd Radar and the Future Global Summit 2023 at the Beijing Shougang Convention and Exhibition Center from April 13 to 15.

Systems on display included YLC-2E S-band multifunctional radar, YLC-16 S-band multifunctional warning radar, YLC-12 C-band multifunctional radar, three-sided array low-altitude monitoring radar, JYL-1A long-range 3D surveillance radar, JY-27A long-range air surveillance and guidance radar, SLC-7 anti-stealth radar, and JN1101 vehicular comprehensive counter-drone system.

A People’s Republic of China Ministry of National Defense spokesperson said Chinese solutions countering stealth aircraft and drones received a lot of attention.

“As a leading enterprise in this field, CETC showcased plenty of cutting-edge technology and equipment, including adapted to different needs on early warning and detection,” the spokesperson said.

“These advanced radar systems are widely used in the fields of air defence, anti-missile and anti-stealth, as well as the surveillance and attack on low, slow, and small targets.

Sixteen sub-forums discussed the development of radar, space development, disaster prevention and mitigation, automotive electronics, smart medicine, ubiquitous perception, microwave vision, and future military electronics during the global summit event.

The World Radar Expo is held every two years by the China Radio Detection and Ranging Industry Association, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, and China Electronics Corporation with an attendance of nearly 500 enterprises, more than 100 academicians, and 50 diplomatic envoys in China from 24 countries and regions.
