Timorese personnel and Australian soldiers have been injured after a vehicle accident involving an Australian Army Bushmaster protected mobility vehicle in the Northern Territory.

Timorese personnel and Australian soldiers have been injured after a vehicle accident involving an Australian Army Bushmaster protected mobility vehicle in the Northern Territory.

Five Timor-Leste Defence Force personnel and two Australian Army soldiers were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries, after a single-vehicle incident near Howard Springs on 30 August.

Three Timorese soldiers remain in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All remaining personnel have been discharged, according to a Defence spokesperson.

“Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our soldiers,” the spokesperson said.
