Hanwha Defense Australia is set to showcase its modified Huntsman and Redback platforms at its Land Forces exhibit in Brisbane.

The Hanwha exhibit will have the newest iteration of the AS9 Huntsman with a K9 Self Propelled Howitzer, featuring a 52-calibre 155mm gun system.
The Redback on show is the fifth-generation infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), designed with locally-developed technology built-in to the unit. Including the latest in sensors and weapons like the Iron Fist active protection system, and the SPIKE LR2 anti-tank guided missile, integrated into the turret.
The Redback and Huntsman are constructed from Australian-made steel supplied by Bisalloy Steels after Hanwha formed a close working relationship with the Sydney-based manufacturer of wear-resistant, high-tensile, abrasion-resistant quenched and tempered steel plates. The company plans to build local manufacturing and supply capabilities by transferring the IFV technology to Australian SMEs to sustain domestic production.
The AS9 Huntsman is currently under consideration as part of the LAND 8116 Phase 1 tender evaluation, while the Redback IFV is currently under consideration for the Commonwealth’s LAND 400 Phase 3 program.
Since the company was selected as the sole tenderer to bid for the $1.3 billion LAND 8116 project, Hanwha is also offering the AS10 for LAND 8116 Phase 1, a highly protected and manoeuvrable armoured ammunition resupply vehicle with a unique loading system, designed to reduce risk to soldiers from enemy fire.
