Sydney-based Australian Pump is gearing up to provide a high level of support for the CIRCOR IMO Allweiler pumps supplied on the Hobart Class destroyers.

Sydney-based Australian Pump is gearing up to provide a high level of support for the CIRCOR IMO Allweiler pumps supplied on the Hobart Class destroyers.

Australian Pump Industries, distributor and service station for CIRCOR IMO Allweiler, is gearing up to expand test capabilities at its Sydney facilities. The company has run a service station for pumps, valves and actuators for RAN vessels for over 25 years. 

The pumps primarily serviced over that period have been fresh and sea water products used on a wide range of Defence platforms.

Aussie Pumps chief engineer John Hales welcomed the announcement, saying, "The pumps we supplied for fuel and lube essential services on the RAN’s NUSHIPs require us to expand our test equipment. Thus we will be able to ensure that repairs run through a rotatable pool can be processed promptly and tested in accordance with the manufacturer’s original standards."

CIRCOR IMO Allweiler products are used on a wide range of RAN vessels, from FFGs to Choules, HMAS Success, Anzac, and both Hobart and Canberra Class ships.
Australian Pump operates from a 2.5-acre site in Sydney’s north-west business district.

The company is a commercial pump manufacturer as well as offering a unique service and support program to Defence.

A recent visit from CIRCOR international sales director – defence, Clément Snauwaert, updated API on the huge range of the company’s products used by navies around the world. Apart from CIRCOR’s USN population, the company’s products, from the Europea-based factories, are used on EU, Middle East and South American navies.

CIRCOR products are applied on everything from patrol boats, frigates, destroyers and aircraft carriers. The company is also very strong in international submarine projects, including the USN’s Nuclear Navy.
