The ASDEFCON Technical Data / Intellectual Property (TD/IP) framework is a key Defence reform initiative to improve and streamline Defence’s procurement processes. The framework achieves a more appropriate balance between the TD/IP needs of Defence and the protection of industry's interests, as well as reflecting the fundamental importance of TD as a key enabler of capability outcomes. To promote and support the implementation of the ASDEFCON TD/IP framework, a national roadshow will be held from May to July 2018 in all major procurement centres across Australia. Roadshows will be open for both Defence personnel and industry to attend and will comprise a general overview of the new framework and interactive sessions covering the new ASDEFCON (Strategic Materiel) TD/IP provisions in detail, as well as the associated processes required for proper use of the provisions. Attendance at roadshows in their local area is mandatory for Procurement and Contracting staff from Commercial Division. In order to maximise attendance, including from industry, RSVPs are essential and attendance will be on a first-in basis.
