Major General Mulhall has been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, appointed a Member of the Military Division of the Order of Australia and awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross, and also been awarded by the United States the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal. He has significant command experience, including as Commander 17th Combat Service Support Brigade, and deployed in 2006 as the Chief of Plans (Logistics), Multi-National Force - Iraq.

In June 2014, Major General Mulhall deployed to Afghanistan into a senior Coalition role within Headquarters International Security Assistance Force / Resolute Support. He was also appointed from 1 November 2014 as Commander Joint Task Force 636 – the only officer to serve in that role and notable also given his concurrent Coalition appointment. He has served as Commander Joint Logistics since December 2015.

Defence Export Controls Sydney Outreach Defence Export Controls (Department of Defence) is conducting an outreach program to cover the requirements exporters must meet when exporting goods and technology that are controlled, have a potential military end use or could be used in a weapon of mass destruction program. The program is aimed at Defence industry and academic / research organisations. This year we will be visiting Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide. Our next program will be in Sydney on October 25 and 26 at the University of Technology Sydney. The program will be delivered over two days, and participants are welcome to register for one or two days, or any elements of those days. Catering will be provided on both days and there is no cost to attend the program. Every two years Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is host to the Australasian helicopter industry. First held in 2014, the biennial Rotortech Conference and Exposition is the premier industry event for the helicopter community in Australia, New Zealand and the region. Hosted by the Australian Helicopter Industry Association, ROTORTECH 2018 will be conducted by Industry Defence and Security Australia Limited which is part of a not-for-profit group headed by Aerospace Maritime and Defence Foundation of Australia Limited. Aerospace Australia Limited is also a part of the Aerospace Maritime and Defence Foundation of Australia Limited group and is the organiser of the biennial Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defence Exposition at Avalon Airport near Melbourne. ROTORTECH 2018 will bring together leading players from all sectors of the rotary-wing industry - operators, helicopter and equipment manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, pilots and engineers.
