Major Service Provider to CASG Roadshow

Date: June 2018 - Wednesday 27 June 2018
Location: 8 Thomas Street, Chatswood, NSW ,

Since being appointed as a Major Service Provider to Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), Team Downer has been taking our SME Roadshow around Australia to meet with Small to Medium Enterprises (SME), and Small Businesses that are currently working in, or seeking to enter the Defence Sector.  The Team Downer consortium includes Downer Group, AGIS, DXC Technology, SYSTRA Scott Lister, Envista and Providence Consulting. Together, we have already established delivery teams in support of Major Integrated Work Partner contracts now in place, with just under 40% of that work being carried out by SME just like yours. This demand coming out of CASG is growing and we need to connect with you to help us deliver this work.

Team Downer is committed to involving Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) to deliver services and capability to Defence. That means connecting your business to Defence work into the future.  Our MSP model has been developed to build relationships with Australian Industry and give you a more stable and steady flow of Defence work to support your business in the long term. Team Downer is committed to extending this relationship by helping you develop your business and the capabilities of your valued people.

Team Downer extends you a warm invitation to our SME Engagement Roadshow in Sydney on 27 June 2018 designed to reach out to connect to you, the SME community. We invite you to talk to us about our objectives and how we can work together to equip and sustain the ADF with world-class capability. Roadshows will be conducted in conjunction with our affiliated partners including Australian Industry Defence Network (AIDN), Engineers Australia (EA), Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), Project Management Institute (PMI), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation Australia (CILTA) and other official professional bodies.

This is an exciting opportunity as we embark on the next generation of service delivery to Defence.

This seminar is RUSI Queensland's blue-ribbon event for 2019. Constant examination of the Australia-Indonesia bilateral relationship is required to understand the dynamic shifts in the political, diplomatic and social foundations of these two close neighbours.  This year provides a special opportunity to recalibrate the strengths and weaknesses in this key regional relationship. Both countries will have completed national elections with political leaders and their parties embarking on their next terms of office in an increasingly uncertain Indo-Pacific domain. How will the relationship evolve? What are these key players thinking about each other? What are the emergent threats that might forge a deeper association between Canberra and Jakarta, or see a split develop along nationalistic, religious or security lines? And what are some of the 'black swan' events that could surprise and challenge both nations and the region?  Introduced by the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs (tbc), the impressive list of international and Australian speakers will address these issues and more over the course of this day-long seminar. Speakers, including senior policy advisors, think tank researchers and academics will prime discussions on topics including strategic calculus, political Islam, regional security threats, climate change, pandemic diseases and natural disasters. These speakers will then be joined by other experts for panel discussions designed to maximise audience participation and exposure to these contemporary 'big ideas' in the Australia-Indonesia relationship. Specific topics will necessarily be considered in the context of China's rise and the West's response. Join Mr Peter Jennings (Director ASPI), Ibu Shafiah Muhibat (CSIS Jakarta), Prof Peter Leahy (National Security Institute), Prof Cordia Chu (Centre for Environment and Population Health), Prof Tim Lindsey (Director of the Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society) and Dr Greta Nabbs-Keller (Centre for Policy Futures) for a master class in international relations between Australia and the largest national Muslim population in the world -- Indonesia.
