Major Service Provider to CASG Roadshow
Major Service Provider to CASG Roadshow
Date: June 2018 - Wednesday 27 June 2018
Location: 8 Thomas Street, Chatswood, NSW ,

Since being appointed as a Major Service Provider to Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), Team Downer has been taking our SME Roadshow around Australia to meet with Small to Medium Enterprises (SME), and Small Businesses that are currently working in, or seeking to enter the Defence Sector.  The Team Downer consortium includes Downer Group, AGIS, DXC Technology, SYSTRA Scott Lister, Envista and Providence Consulting. Together, we have already established delivery teams in support of Major Integrated Work Partner contracts now in place, with just under 40% of that work being carried out by SME just like yours. This demand coming out of CASG is growing and we need to connect with you to help us deliver this work.

Team Downer is committed to involving Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) to deliver services and capability to Defence. That means connecting your business to Defence work into the future.  Our MSP model has been developed to build relationships with Australian Industry and give you a more stable and steady flow of Defence work to support your business in the long term. Team Downer is committed to extending this relationship by helping you develop your business and the capabilities of your valued people.

Team Downer extends you a warm invitation to our SME Engagement Roadshow in Sydney on 27 June 2018 designed to reach out to connect to you, the SME community. We invite you to talk to us about our objectives and how we can work together to equip and sustain the ADF with world-class capability. Roadshows will be conducted in conjunction with our affiliated partners including Australian Industry Defence Network (AIDN), Engineers Australia (EA), Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), Project Management Institute (PMI), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation Australia (CILTA) and other official professional bodies.

This is an exciting opportunity as we embark on the next generation of service delivery to Defence.

ICSILP is the new name of what was formerly known as Future Land Force Conference. It is Australia’s premier event for defence researchers, industry professionals, and academics interested in transforming the military land force through science and technology.  It will address the question of how technology convergence, innovation and science can modernise armies to become more agile and potent in the challenging environments of land operations and can survive and counter emerging physical, electronic and cyber threats. The conference will include invited and technical presentations, interactive sessions, and a panel discussion with well-regarded national and international defence science, industry and military representatives.

The Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation (GMRF) has launched its latest study investigating transition out of military service. The purpose of the study is to trial a questionnaire that will help assess reintegration and psychological adjustment to civilian life. We are seeking former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to complete an online survey about reintegration and mental health. The survey will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. To be eligible for participation, you are required to have served in the regular ADF and to have discharged between 2000-2018. We are also unable to recruit those who are currently hospitalised for a psychological condition at this time. There will be no cost or reimbursement associated with participation. The 2018 NZDIA Forum is our 21st forum. We aim to bring together industry (local, regional and international) and a wider range of government interests than has been achieved previously. The NZDIA forum has, for 20 years, been the most important event on NZ soil for defence and industry to come together. This year we are creating the opportunity and space for a wider cross-section of the industry: local, Australasian and global with a broader interest in national security encompassing defence, to come together.  The speaking and workshop programme is coming together as we identify how best to deliver excellent value to our traditional constituency and new attendees.  There will be something for everyone in the programme, in the exhibition space and in the networking breaks.

The 2018 Goldrick Seminar will be co-convened by the Australian Naval Institute, the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Centre for the Study of Armed Conflict and Society and the Submarine Institute of Australia. The all-day event will be held at the Adams Auditorium on 17 September 2018. The Seminar will deal with the development of the Australian naval shipbuilding enterprise. This year’s Seminar will feature a plenary session with three keynote speakers followed by a set of syndicate streams intended to examine three key concepts: Workforce; Capability; Warfighting. A general presentation and open forum stream will be held in parallel to the syndicate streams, with the key findings from this session included in the findings to be delivered during a final plenary session to Navy at the end of the day.
