AIDN QLD (Australian Industry & Defence Network) is proud to host an industry breakfast, Meet the Minister.

With the latest federal cabinet reshuffle, the Defence Industry now has a new Minister for the Defence Industry, Minister Steven Ciobo.

This industry breakfast will feature Minister Ciobo as our key speaker and give attendees an insight into our new Minister for the Defence Industry and Minister Ciobo’s future plans for the industry. Attendees will also have the ability to submit questions to the Minister via their Eventbrite ticket order for the Q&A segment of the industry breakfast.

The Masterclass will track China’s global and regional ambitions, and review the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP)  investments in cyber, intelligence, defence, space & social credit. This event will offer a deeper understanding of China, the CCP and its rapidly evolving place in the world and explore the policy implications for Australia and the Indo-Pacific region more broadly.

The International Military Writers’ Festival is a three-day festival running from 5-7 April 2019. The Festival will feature author talks, panel discussions and literary sessions bringing together writers, historians and researchers from around Australia to entertain, inform and inspire those with a passion for wartime history. The Writers’ Festival will open on Friday 5 April with a welcoming address by His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC, and then an evening address, The Day Everything Changed, from Festival Ambassador Peter FitzSimons. With his trademark dry wit and sincere passion for history, Peter will explore the events surrounding the initial bombing of Darwin on 19 February 1942 - a milestone that changed Darwin and Australia forever.
