PACIFIC 2019, the biennial Pacific International Maritime Exposition, will be held in Sydney from Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 October 2019.

As the only comprehensive international exhibition of its kind in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, PACIFIC 2019 will again provide the essential showcase for commercial maritime and naval defence industries to promote their capabilities to decision-makers from around the world.

Held in the heart of Sydney and on the shores of one of the world’s most beautiful harbours, PACIFIC 2019 will be the tenth in the series and builds on the highly successful biennial events since 2000.

Specifically developed to satisfy the needs of industry, government and defence professionals across the broad spectrum of maritime affairs, PACIFIC 2019 is not open to the general public.

Join distinguished international and Australian speakers for two days of debate on the future of warfare. ASPI’s War in 2025 conference will consider the key drivers that could lead to conflict in the next decade, how the relative power dynamics between the great powers are changing, multidomain warfare now and in 2025, what technologies will shape future warfare, information operations, and the next Defence White Paper.

The ASPI China masterclass is a one-day intensive event that will give participants a strategic understanding of how China is seeking to shape the world around it. Participants will learn and debate with specialists on China with deep knowledge of the current security, political and thematic landscapes. The Masterclass will track China’s global and regional ambitions, and review the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP)  investments in cyber, intelligence, defence, space & social credit. This event will offer a deeper understanding of China, the CCP and its rapidly evolving place in the world and explore the policy implications for Australia and the Indo-Pacific region more broadly.

The International Military Writers’ Festival is a three-day festival running from 5-7 April 2019. The Festival will feature author talks, panel discussions and literary sessions bringing together writers, historians and researchers from around Australia to entertain, inform and inspire those with a passion for wartime history. The Writers’ Festival will open on Friday 5 April with a welcoming address by His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC, and then an evening address, The Day Everything Changed, from Festival Ambassador Peter FitzSimons. With his trademark dry wit and sincere passion for history, Peter will explore the events surrounding the initial bombing of Darwin on 19 February 1942 - a milestone that changed Darwin and Australia forever.
