Participants will have access to women mentors working across several different fields, including intelligence and national security, cybersecurity and STEM, academia, international aid and foreign policy, politics, media and journalism, international trade policy, NGO’s and civil society organisations, industry and defence.

The course provides a theoretical and practical introduction on the application of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) throughout the Capability Lifecycle. The course focuses squarely on the Ten ILS elements and identifies the Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) tasks. It also visits the five constituent capabilities and details how these elements can assist ILS personnel in their everyday working environment. It provides practical and theory training to enable personnel, wherever located in the ILS chain, with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills that will enable them to work in a collaborative ILS and engineering environment. Throughout the course, the experienced instructors will bring to life the theoretical knowledge with real-world examples to ensure students can apply the knowledge to their individual workplace

The Veterans Film Festival (VFF) is an annual event that brings people together to discover extraordinary stories about veterans, first responders, all who experience conflict and their families. The VFF offers a meeting ground and artistic platform for veterans and filmmakers to network as creative artists and to engage with audiences of all ages, cultures and abilities. The festival presents a curated program of carefully selected features, documentaries, short films and media art, focusing on recent work by talented indie artists from Australia and around the globe. Within our program we will also present mainstream films to gala premieres, retrospectives to themed screenings, as well as crowd pleasing events i.e. workshops, discussions, exhibitions and provide opportunities to meet with veterans, filmmakers and content creators via Q&A’s, panels, etc.

While the trend toward an increasingly integrated Indo-Pacific was initially viewed from the perspective of economics, trade and energy flows, it is increasingly apparent that the rise of the Indo-Pacific era also has major implications for national defence and regional security.The 2018 Western Australian Indo-Pacific Defence Conference will convene strategic thinkers from the military, industry, academic and government in Perth Australia, home to Australia’s largest naval base, a growing defence industry, and a vibrant civic and academic community.Defence West in the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation in partnership with the Perth USAsia Centre at The University of Western Australia will convene the 2018 Western Australian Indo-Pacific Defence Conference. This event will examine the broader geo-strategic environment of the Indo-Pacific and the important role Australia will continue to play in the region via its expertise in defence capability and resources. We also hope to showcase regional opportunities to WA-based industries, as well as national and international stakeholders. This conference will promote the State’s defence capability to national and international defence stakeholders. The aim is to provide new and relevant information from high-level speakers to educate and inspire our local industry, and to assist them in becoming world class and globally competitive (export ready).

Held every two years, the exhibition brings together around 400 exhibitors from 40 countries, offering capabilities and innovation for the maritime sector. Exhibiting on the Team Defence Australia stand is free of charge, however successful companies will be responsible for flights, accommodation, freight and other related costs.
