 Our client Lürssen is a family owned company with over 140 years of shipbuilding expertise, and a global leader in design and construction of ships for commercial and defence purposes. In May 2017, in pursuit of the SEA 1180 contract and regional export opportunities, Lürssen founded a subsidiary company, Lürssen Australia. The company will support Australia’s national sovereign shipbuilding strategy and operates from a new office in the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, Western Australia.

An opportunity has become available for a PMO Manager/Deputy Project Director to join the Lürssen Australia team. The role is responsible for standardisation, reducing duplication and leveraging resources such as people, technology and communication. The successful candidate will guide the successful delivery of the SEA1180 program through the provision of strategic and operational support, including operational reporting, planning and contracts management, risk and issue tracking and reporting.

The successful candidate will have a strong project or programme management and excellent organisational skills, and the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation.  It is expected the successful candidate will be a strong influencer and collaborative leader.

This role is a career building opportunity with progression to Project Director in due course and will see a successful candidate establish themselves in a senior leadership and stakeholder management capacity on a critical defence project.

Experience in shipbuilding is mandatory, and Defence industry experience is advantageous.
