On behalf of Medibank's Garrison Health Services, Healthcare Australia has been subcontracted to deliver the On-base Primary Healthcare Services for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

As part of the HCA-Defence contract, an opportunity has arisen for experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team working at Lavarack Health Centre.

About the role:

In this role, you will be an integral member of an experienced multidisciplinary health care team providing a range of high-quality evidence-based clinical services to all ADF personnel. The successful candidate will perform, but not limited to the following tasks:

  • initial intake assessment;
  • suicide risk assessment;
  • crisis intervention;
  • case formulation and treatment planning;
  • counseling interventions;
  • care coordination;
  • group psycho-education

To be successful in this role you will have the following mandatory requirements:

  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Registered Nurse division 1, holding a current unconditional registration with AHPRA

A minimum of 4000 hours post graduate experience over the last five years working in a range of mental health settings using evidence-informed interventions including comprehensive mental health assessments, medication monitoring, relapse prevention, care coordination and case management

  • Successful completion of a criminal history check
  • Ability to hold a baseline security clearance with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency
