An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team. The position entails the delivery of quality assurance activities with respect to engineering and project management roles and associated incoming and outgoing material (parts and data). This opportunity will see you work with cutting edge ICT technologies across various Defence programs with a focus on business systems, operational systems along with cyber security and analytics. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain the program Quality Plan (QP) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015;
  • Develop and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) Processes, Procedures and Work Instructions;
  • Champion to material/quality process improvement;
  • Prepare and maintain document templates;
  • Coach the program team in the use of QMS with respect to their project milestones and goals;
  • Provide regular feedback on the current state of compliance against the QP and the QMS to the programme leadership
  • Conduct periodic formal audit of the program’s conformance to the QP and the QMS;
  • Arrange and manage external parties periodic auditing the program’s conformance to the QP and the QMS;
  • Confirm compliance of product verification activities to QMS processes;
  • Witness and the conduct of mandated reviews, workshops and other meetings as directed by the Program Manager / Project Manager;
  • Conduct lessons learnt exercises and root causes analysis;
  • Perform quality inspection of incoming and outgoing data/documents; and
  • Convert documents to comply with current project standards. 

Key Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 5 years in a software, systems or similar engineering position
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality assurance position;
  • Auditing of system and software lifecycle activities in accordance with ISO 9001;
  • Use of product lifecycle management tools for records and audit investigations; and
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Diploma of Quality Auditing BSB51615, or equivalent; and
  • Degree-level qualification in an engineering, information technology, related discipline, or evidence of equivalent prior learning, is highly desirable. 

Desirable Qualities: 

  • Current Australian Defence Clearance Holder;
  • Experience in Capability Development programs within the Australian Defence domain; and
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take on responsibilities autonomously. 

Essential Citizenship Requirements 

In order to be eligible for this position, candidates must be able to obtain or hold an Australian Defence Clearance and be able to access ITAR information (which precludes candidates that have citizenship with a proscribed country)
