L3 Technologies has won a US$26.3 million contract from US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to provide close-quarter sights and clip-on magnifiers from EOTech for the Miniature Aiming System – Day Optics suite.
The contract is a five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity with an option for five additional years, and is the continuation of a 17-year partnership between USSOCOM and EOTech.
"We are extremely proud to continue to provide America’s tip-of-the-spear warriors with the most advanced holographic sights in the world,” said Jeff Miller, corporate senior vice president and president of the ISR systems business segment, which includes EOTech.
“It’s a testament to L3’s commitment to quality that USSOCOM has once again competitively selected EOTech as their choice for battle optics.”
EOTech will deliver the newer edition of its holographic weapon sight as well as the G33 clip-on magnifier to USSOCOM.
EOTech provides holographic sighting systems, magnified field optics, tactical lasers, and thermal imaging and night vision equipment to special operations forces all around the world, including Australia.
The Australian Defence Force has roughly 2,000 EOTech holographic sights in deployment.
L3 Technologies is headquartered in New York and employs over 30,000 people worldwide, developing advanced defence technologies and commercial solutions in pilot training, aviation security, night vision and EO/IR, weapons, maritime systems and space.
All work for the USSOCOM contract will be performed at EOTech’s headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
