The Australian Defence Force has released new guidelines for the Defence Reparation Scheme, which will seek to extend the time to make a report to 30 June 2022.
Defence hopes that the longer time period will give the opportunity for any parties to make submissions.
The Defence Reparation Scheme has been in place since 2017 and is for any individuals who may have experienced abuse from other personnel before 2014.
Those seeking to use the scheme must contact the ombudsman by 30 June 2022 with a formal lodgement by 2023.
