A veteran of the defence and aerospace industry has been tapped to lead the company’s operations in Japan.

L3Harris Technologies has appointed Daniel Zoot as the inaugural corporate vice president in Japan, tasked with establishing the company’s first corporate office in Tokyo.

The new Japan lead has also held roles across program management, engineering and business development with Raytheon Technologies, Loral, and the US Navy.

The appointment is a response to Japan’s growing investment in defence capability, particularly across the new domains of space, cyber and the electromagnetic spectrum.

L3Harris is looking to capitalise on this demand, supporting US allies and expanding its global footprint.

“Establishing our Japan headquarters expands our ability to support the security needs of our allies and the safety of their warfighters,” Charles Davis, vice president of L3Harris International, said.

“I look forward to working with Dan to establish strong partnerships and deliver end-to-end solutions that address our customers’ mission-critical needs.”
