As 2019 draws to an end, the Defence Connect team will take a look through some of its favourite images of the year, with this edition being focused on Australia’s land forces.

The Australian Army has had a very busy year, taking part in several international exercises such as Mallee Bull, Talisman Sabre, Ground Effect, Mini Burrow, Koolendong, and others.

As well as that, Australian land forces remain heavily involved in operations overseas, such as the fight against Daesh terrorists in Operation OKRA.

Recently, Task Group Taji 9 Commander Colonel Michael Bassingthwaighte formally handed command to incoming Commander Colonel Nick Foxall during a Transfer of Authority parade at the Taji Military Complex near Baghdad, with a new rotation of troops to help bolster security forces in Iraq.

Take a look through the photo gallery above for some of Defence Connect's favourite images from 2019 for Australia's land forces.
