The Pacific 2019 International Maritime Exposition has been the site of another memorandum of understanding signing, this time between Australian Pump Industries and French-based company Howden Solyvent Ventec.

The agreement will see the collaboration of both companies on the compilation and submission of requests for tender (RFT) responses for fans and ventilation systems for the SEA 1000 and SEA 5000 projects, and was signed by Warwick Lorenz, managing director of Australian Pump Industries and Raphael Legrand, defence and marine market manager for Howden Solyvent Ventec.
“Working with a high-tech Defence related organisation like Solyvent enables us to expand our engineering base with a view to providing the Department of Defence with support that can extend for the next decades,” said Lorenz.
“The MoU provides us with the ability to move swiftly forward to play an important role with both Naval Group and BAE.”
Under the arrangement, Aussie Pumps will be the sole distributor for Howden Solyvent in Australia and New Zealand.
Aussie Pumps also confirmed that it was exploring the possibilities of Australian participation with Solyvent and "has had encouraging dialogue with AIC/CDIC on developing sovereign capability".
“Solyvent specialises in the development of ground breaking fan designs delivering quieter performance and high levels of shock resistance,” said Legrand.
“The company’s products have found applications in submarine, surface warship and nuclear power station duties where ventilation efficiency is mission critical”.
