Winners of the 2022 Prince of Wales Awards were recently announced, with the scheme developed to acknowledge the work of ADF Reservists and their civilian employers by providing funds for training and professional development.

Winners of the 2022 Prince of Wales Awards were recently announced, with the scheme developed to acknowledge the work of ADF Reservists and their civilian employers by providing funds for training and professional development.

Reservists and their civilian employers have been recognised for their ongoing commitment to Australia’s security with the 2022 Prince of Wales Awards, designed to help reservists and their work places undertake additional training and development.

Winners of the award scheme will receive $8,000 to support training in their professional lives.

“The ADF Reserve have made a vital contribution to Defence’s assistance to the community during the bushfire crisis and the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Assistant Minister for Defence Andrew Hastie said.

“Reservists are a critical capability for our nation and their contribution to national security cannot be underestimated.”

The winners of the Awards were selected from all three services.

“The Prince of Wales Awards recognise the dedication of our ADF reservists and the valued support they receive from their civilian employers,” Assistant Minister Hastie said.

“I congratulate the Navy, Army and Air Force reservists who will have the opportunity to develop new skills and undertake additional training beneficial to their civilian careers.”

According to Defence Reserves Support, the list of winners are:

  • LT Julie Storok – Department of Education, Toormina High School
  • CAPT Cristian Heinrich Birzer – The University of Adelaide
  • MAJ Andrew Crowe – Mirragin RAS Consulting
  • CAPT Edward Douglas Farrell – Mercury Information Security Services (Mercury)
  • CAPT Astrid Diane Hagqvist – Project Director TSA Management
  • CAPT Robin Lee Hennessey – Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • CPL Andrew Richard McDougall – John Holland
  • CPL David Hugh Wrightson – Fire and Rescue New South Wales
  • SQNLDR Susan Ellen Page – Uniting Church in Australia Synod of South Australia
  • SQNLDR Shaun Kennedy Robertson – Queensland Health
