Team Defence Australia (TDA) has requested expressions of interest for Australian participants to attend the Euronaval 2018 expo as part of the trade mission to be held 14-19 October.

Team Defence Australia (TDA) has requested expressions of interest for Australian participants to attend the Euronaval 2018 expo as part of the trade mission to be held 14-19 October.

Companies attending Euronaval 2018 can take advantage of a trade mission to key sites operated by Lürssen and global supply chain prime BAE, and tours of key advanced manufacturing facilities in Germany.

The trade mission will run from 14-19 October, in the lead up to Euronaval. Companies can participate in the full program or individual legs of the mission.

The trade mission is not restricted to companies exhibiting at Euronaval. If you would like to check if your business capability is of interest to the primes, the CDIC can be contacted here.

Participants are responsible for their flights, meals and accommodation. Ground transport for the group may be provided where feasible. Grants to help cover the cost of this event may be available from your state government and Austrade

The draft program organised by TDA, Defence SA and industry partner BAE Systems Australia, includes: 

  • An overview of Lürssen's successful SEA 1180 Offshore Patrol Vessel bid and the program; 
  • Tour of Airbus assembly facility in Hamburg; and
  • Briefing by BAE Systems and key suppliers to the UK's maritime business units including: submarines, combat systems and surface ships.

Euronaval 2018 includes exhibitors from a variety of European and global countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Thailand, Norway, Israel, South Korea and the US.

Euronaval is the largest international exhibition of naval defence and maritime security and safety. Organised every two years in Paris-Le Bourget, the exhibition brings together decision makers from navies and the international naval industry. With more than 23,000 visitors, 400 exhibitors in a 15,000 square-metre space, and 129 official delegations from 64 countries (2016 figures), Euronaval is the benchmark exhibition in the naval defence industry.
