Dates have now been confirmed for Australia’s largest international air show at Avalon Airport in 23 to 28 February next year.
The Avalon Australian International Airshow, held over six days, combines military aircraft showcases with industry representation and a public air show.
The week starts with three dedicated trade days before the public program from Friday, 26 February, featuring thrilling aerobatics, high-speed jet displays and aircraft experiences.
The last event attracted more than 200,000 visitors and delivered an estimated $31.85 million in direct economic benefit to the Geelong region.
“Avalon is an event that brings people together, whether you’re an aviation enthusiast, a family looking for an incredible day out, or someone seeing a fast jet fly for the very first time. The energy, the sound, the spectacle, there’s nothing quite like it,” AMDA Foundation chief executive officer Justin Giddings said.
“The strong economic results from the last event demonstrate the important role Avalon plays for Victoria supporting local businesses, attracting international visitors and showcasing Australian industry capability on a global stage."
In 2027, Avalon will feature a trade and industry exposition, utilising a dedicated business event attracting more than 900 exhibiting companies and over 60,000 industry visitors.
It will also feature a careers program, welcoming more than 7,000 students, a Friday night alight with aerial performances and a Saturday and Sunday air show, with two full days of high-energy flying displays, powerful military jets, precision aerobatics, historic aircraft, interactive ground exhibits and family-friendly attractions.
The event is proudly supported by the Victorian state government. The Avalon Australian International Airshow is presented by the Australian not-for-profit organisation AMDA Foundation, in collaboration with the Royal Australian Air Force.
