Australia’s future defence capabilities have been reinforced by the 2016 Defence White Paper, which sets out the strategy and investment for defence spending for the years ahead.

AUSTRALIAN SPACE AWARDS
For the first time in Australia, Space Connect has created an awards program initiative that will showcase the nation’s best and brightest space businesses and professionals.
Recognising the leading individuals and businesses driving the development of Australia’s space economy, the Australian Space Awards universally acknowledges all space industry stakeholders - — from the major listed organisations and corporates servicing Australia’s space economy to SMEs, start-ups, academic institutions and associations.

Phillip is a journalist and media executive with over 20 years’ experience, in a media career that spans finance, business, economics, international politics and development. He has lead the launch, growth and acquisition of a range of award-winning business platforms and is recognised for his expertise in building highly connected professional communities. Phillip has a Master’s degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

William is an experienced sales executive with extensive knowledge working in government and policy-related industries. He has worked closely with numerous organisations, from large multinationals to government and the SME sector, to support business growth initiatives. He has a track record of developing marketing and event partnerships that position companies as market leaders and assist in business growth and revenue generation. William is ideally positioned to support defence businesses and manufacturers to translate their technical capabilities and products into marketable activities that connect with customers.
Analyst and deputy editor – Defence, Momentum Media
Steve has an extensive career in government, having previously worked for senior cabinet ministers at both federal and state levels, including the Premier of New South Wales. He has a policy background with specialties in defence, foreign affairs, infrastructure development, industry, economics and employment. Steve has a Masters of International Relations and Bachelor’s degree in History and Politics; he is currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Economics with the University of Sydney.

Dylan grew up in a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) family, some of who still work in the defence industry. He completed a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of International Studies double degree at the University of Wollongong and has a keen interest in international news, geopolitics, foreign policy and modern literature. Dylan is now completing a Master’s Degree in Terrorism and Security Studies with Charles Sturt University.
