Phillip is a journalist and media executive with over 15 years’ experience, in a media career that spans finance, business, economics, international politics and development. He has lead the launch and growth of a range of award-winning business platforms and is recognised for his expertise in building highly connected professional communities. Phillip has a Master’s degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Journalist, Defence Connect
Amelia is a journalist with experience reporting across defence, politics, industry, business, sports and current affairs. She has worked across both print and online and is also knowledgeable in television and other broadcast mediums, including the emerging field of podcasting. A graduate of the University of South Australia, where she majored in journalism and international relations, she plays a key role in delivering essential news and market intelligence for defence and defence industry via Defence Connect; she also drives the brand’s social engagement across key channels, including LinkedIn and Twitter. Amelia joined Defence Connect in early 2017.
Partnerships Manager, Defence Connect
Joe Vince has a background in the military and marketing. As a Royal Marines Commando he served on a number of deployments, including Afghanistan and Africa, before making the transition from a uniform to a suit. After leaving the Military in 2014 Joe traveled to Australia, joining a large IT company as a digital marketing specialist. Joe subsequently joined the Defence Connect team as a partnerships manager, tasked with developing commercial relationships with primes, SMEs and other defence industry stakeholders to enhance their connectivity with defence and defence industry.

William is an experienced sales executive with extensive knowledge working in government and policy-related industries. He has worked closely with numerous organisations, from large multinationals to government and the SME sector, to support business growth initiatives. He has a track record of developing marketing and event partnerships that position companies as market leaders and assist in business growth and revenue generation. William is ideally positioned to support defence businesses and manufacturers to translate their technical capabilities and products into marketable activities that connect with customers.

The founder of Defence Connect, Victoria Lewis has been instrumental to the development of the brand, and for five years has kept Australia’s defence industry informed of key events and delivered essential market intelligence related to defence procurement. Momentum Media acquired Defence Connect from Victoria in September 2016; she will support the development of the interconnected platform as a key industry advocate, adviser and market facilitator.

Russell Stephenson is a media executive with a career spanning 13+ years working across a range of professional sectors, including marketing, mortgages, wealth, legal and small to medium enterprises. As head of defence at Momentum Media, Russell’s core focus is the commercial development of the Defence Connect platform coupled with delivering greater distribution and connectivity to all defence industry stakeholders.
