Aviation operations and engineering company Air Affairs Australia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kratos Unmanned Systems Division (KUSD) to collaborate in Australia.
The MoU will build on an existing long-standing relationship between the two companies where Air Affairs has been providing parts and payloads for the full range of Kratos drones for over a decade under a manufacturing agreement.
The companies said they will jointly identify future unmanned systems opportunities to complement Air Affairs’ existing manned adversary and targets business, as well as pursuing a range of evolving tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) opportunities.
The MoU will also enable Air Affairs and Kratos to offer a selection of UAS ranging from low-cost Phoenix Unmanned Aerial Targets (UAT), to tactical UAS for a number of applications, through to high performance UATs.
KUSD is comprised of two business groups, the Unmanned Aerial Systems Group and the Unmanned Electronics Group.
Both groups are vertically integrated Kratos companies, possessing the technical expertise to design, build, operate and control some of the world’s most advanced unmanned platforms.
KUSD says that together, these groups are meeting the needs of the US Department of Defense and other nations around the world by providing high-performance aerial target systems and advanced tactical UAS.
