The Australian Defence Industry Awards’ black-tie and mess dress gala ceremony will be held on Thursday, 18 July 2024, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. Click here to buy tickets.

This prestigious awards ceremony celebrates those professionals and businesses that have contributed to making defence industry Australia’s most vibrant sector and acknowledges all industry stakeholders, including primes, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), academic institutions and associations.

It also shines a light on the achievements of individuals, including defence executives, female and Indigenous leaders, students, scientists, technicians, and academics.

There are 10 individual and 18 group award categories for entrants to submit into this year. Click here to view the categories.

Individual categories cover consultants, engineers, innovators, technicians, as well as the rising stars of tomorrow.

Group categories are available to academic institutions, organisations that offer aerospace, land, naval, and veteran support programs, consultancies, cyber businesses, and manufacturers, as well as sovereign industry champions.

“The Australian Defence Industry Awards is our opportunity to applaud the best and brightest in the defence industry and those businesses that are delivering critical services to support Australia’s safety and prosperity,” Liam Garman, editor of Defence Connect, said.

“I highly encourage you to submit a nomination for your chance to be recognised, and I look forward to celebrating with you on the night!”

The awards are open to all businesses operating in Australia supporting the defence supply chain.

They have become a desirable accolade for individuals and businesses seeking to forge their role in the defence industry.

Securing an award could distinguish organisations from their competitors when attracting and retaining the best talent while strengthening their position when winning defence projects or contracts.

For individuals, this accolade could underpin career advancement while reaffirming their role in advancing the Australian defence industry and its capabilities.

Winners are determined by a well-respected panel of judges, including former Australian Defence Force leaders, academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, providing peer-reviewed recognition of your achievements and passion for propelling the industry to new heights.
