The Commonwealth has updated their current approaches to market through AusTender for defence businesses, ensuring that industry can continue delivering essential defence capability. Below, Defence Connect details those essential upcoming tenders.

Delivery of new RAN infrastructure: Closing on 27 March 2024, the Department of Defence is looking for a corporate partner who can deliver new infrastructure and capital build facilities under ESTS4000PH6. The tender includes maritime structures, operational support and testing facilities, training facilities and storage at HMAS Warson, Randwick Barracks Navy Training Systems, Garden Island Defence Precinct and the Maritime Combat Systems Integration Centre. According to the tender, applicants are to offer design management and coordination services and support to the approvals process, architectural and building engineering design services, Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) design services, quantity surveying services, BCA/MFPE design and consultancy services, provision and management of a common data environment, site investigations and more. Space surveillance: Closing 30 June 2024, the Defence Space Command is purchasing global commercial-off-the-shelf space surveillance and tracking data as a minimum viable product to support space domain awareness. Defence has confirmed that there will be multiple vendors for the procurements which will take place over short periods. Preferred builders list: Closing 26 July 2024, Defence Housing Australia is expanding the preferred builders list, inviting qualified upgrade builders and contractors to submit a response to a recent RO.
