QinetiQ Target Systems Canada has been awarded a follow-on sole-sourced contract to deliver uncrewed aerial target support services to the United States government through prime contractor Canadian Commercial Corporation.
Awarded in collaboration with Public Services and Procurement Canada and the Canadian Commercial Corporation, this marks the sixth consecutive framework agreement secured by QinetiQ’s Medicine Hat facility for its Vindicator II Support Services.
The five-year contract, valued at US$13.3 million (AU$21.35 million), commenced last month and will extend until late 2029, with an option for a six-month extension.
It represents the largest provision of QinetiQ’s uncrewed aerial support services for US government ranges at SNI, California, and Dam Neck, Virginia.
Ryan Peterson, project and customer account manager, said, “QinetiQ is extremely proud to continue this contract and program. This is a much-appreciated recognition of the excellent working relationship between QinetiQ and our USN customer and a nod to the outstanding service provided by our global field services team for more than two decades.”
This contract ensures that the United States Navy (USN) can continue to rely on QinetiQ Target Systems services, providing a dependable training platform and access to the Vindicator II as a pre-qualified target at US ranges.
In operation for over six contract renewals, the Vindicator II offers a cost-effective and high-quality solution, consistently meeting the USN’s demanding training requirements.
Under the agreement, Canadian personnel will be deployed to deliver services akin to QinetiQ’s Banshee operations worldwide, utilising modified equipment tailored to meet the USN’s unique operational needs.
The contract underscores QinetiQ’s dedication to delivering customised, high-quality training and support services. It also highlights the company’s innovative and adaptive approach to meeting the evolving requirements of its clients across the defence sector.
This collaborative agreement reinforces QinetiQ’s reputation as a trusted partner in providing cutting-edge solutions and reliable support services, enabling the USN to maintain robust and effective training programs.
