The BEACON remote control system has been announced by Pearson Engineering to integrate with fighting vehicles and allow remote operator control.

The remote control system reportedly allows crewed fighting vehicles to be used as optionally crewed robotic assets, further removing soldiers from harm’s way.

The system demonstrates established compatibility with Pearson Engineering’s front-end equipment and other attachments, including the full width mine plough and lane marking system, as well as seamless integration with third-party systems such as the linear demolition charge system, according to the company.

The BEACON system provides safe and comprehensive remote control over existing legacy ground platforms and mission equipment. The system provides a simple means to changeover from crewed to remote control operation as required.”

“BEACON is engineered for reliability in challenging environments, featuring modular, robust hardware. Its design is intentionally simple and scalable, facilitating rapid integration with a diverse range of platforms. This adaptability positions BEACON as a strategic asset for modern military inventories.

Operational flexibility is ensured through two distinct remote-control methods: a portable solution for dismounted soldiers using an operator control unit, or an integrated command station within a dedicated command vehicle. Both options significantly enhance operational safety.

The system delivers a reliable, secure and technologically advanced solution, specifically designed to protect military personnel during critical combat engineering operations, according to the company.
