American defence company Anduril Industries has signed a definitive agreement to acquire tactical networking and computer technologies developer Klas.

American defence company Anduril Industries has signed a definitive agreement to acquire tactical networking and computer technologies developer Klas.

The acquisition, pending regulatory approval, brings Klas’ rugged hardware into Anduril’s portfolio of autonomous systems and connected warfare capabilities, according to a company statement published on 5 May.

Klas is best known for its Voyager line of compute and networking systems built to survive extreme temperatures, jamming, dust and denied environments. Voyager is already deployed as part of Anduril’s Menace family of systems, supporting operations across ground, maritime and air domains.

“This acquisition builds on that foundation. Every autonomous system is only as capable as the compute and comms it carries – together, they form the nervous system that enables real-time decision making, coordination and mission execution,” a company statement published by Anduril read.

“By unifying Anduril’s Lattice software platform, autonomy and sensor capabilities with Klas’ compute and networking infrastructure, we can deliver lightweight, mission-tailored systems that are faster to deploy, easier to maintain and more resilient under pressure.

“Anduril can now adapt edge compute and comms to the specific needs of each mission, platform or unit – reducing integration risk and getting critical tech into the hands of warfighters faster.”

The deal establishes Anduril’s first office in Dublin, furthering the company’s international presence across Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan and Taiwan. Klas will continue operating from its facilities in Ireland and the US, with plans to expand manufacturing to support demand across the Anduril portfolio.

The deal is expected to deliver fast, resilient and integrated solutions for operations in harsh conditions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
