Technology company archTIS Limited has announced the award of an initial NC Protect licence contract by a prime government contractor supporting the US Department of Defense.

The company, which acts as a provider of data-centric software for secure information sharing, shared the achievement as part of its expansion into the US defence industry on 16 June.

The initial contract is awarded for licences for 1,000 users, valued at $38,500, and procurement of NC Protect is expected to expand in the coming months across the broader US Department of Defense (DOD), including an initial 150,000 users across the warfighter network. This would represent a six-fold potential increase in NC Protect’s global user base.

Procurement managed by Copper River Technologies, archTIS’ federal partner since 2024.

The initial contract provides NC Protect licences for 1,000 users within the DOD’s Microsoft DoD365 cloud environment.

The engagement follows extensive evaluation and is expected to serve as a precursor to a major scale-up, with a potential first-phase deployment across 150,000 users in the US warfighter network.

“This initial award marks a pivotal milestone in our strategy to penetrate and service the US defence market, the largest in the world,” according to archTIS managing director and CEO Daniel Lai.

“It is a key achievement that evidences our capability in this competitive sector, which is characterised by extensive compliance requirements and strict security standards.

“By establishing a foothold in this market, we are actively positioning ourselves to capitalise on future opportunities in government and defence.

“We believe this market will contribute significantly to our overall growth objectives.”

ArchTIS global COO and US president Kurt A. Mueffelmann affirmed that the continued evaluation of NC Protect as the solution for this critical DOD initiative is a testament to the company’s innovative technology, as well as staff dedication to safeguarding data in the most challenging defence environments.

“We take great pride in supporting the US Department of Defense in achieving secure collaboration in Microsoft’s DoD365 cloud environments,” he said.

“This milestone marks a significant step forward in archTIS’ mission to deliver trusted solutions for global defence and intelligence communities.”
