Multi-sensor drone manufacturer Quantum Systems has announced that Vector AI fixed-wing uncrewed aerials systems (UAS) are being prepped for delivery out of Queensland.

The locally produced silent mid-endurance electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) UAS are designed for military reconnaissance missions using delivery of real-time, high-resolution downlink imagery to operators.

“The first Vector AI systems have been built, tested and are now being prepared for delivery right here in Redbank, Queensland, marking a significant step in local production capability for our Brisbane-based team,” Quantum Systems said in a statement.

“This achievement reflects the strength of our commitment to building sovereign capability and delivering cutting-edge aerial intelligence systems on Australian soil. We’re excited for what’s ahead.

“Built on thousands of operational mission hours and front-line deployment experience, including its proven performance in Ukraine, Vector AI delivers reliable, AI-powered reconnaissance capability in a compact, quiet, and flexible eVTOL sUAS.

“Vector AI provides real-time, high-resolution imagery and adapts easily to mission demands with its open systems architecture, onboard computing power and modular 2-in-1 design that enables seamless conversion between fixed-wing and multi-copter configurations.

“Vector AI is a force multiplier designed for today’s complex operating environments.”

Earlier this month, the company confirmed that it had undertaken successful field demonstrations of its Vector AI systems and short-range VTOL Twister UAS in Canberra, Australia.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us to see both systems in action. These demonstrations are a great opportunity to show how our platforms are delivering reliable aerial intelligence where and when it’s needed most,” the company said.

“Twister impressed with its agility and rapid deployment, built for tactical ISR at the squad level.

“Vector AI showcased its proven endurance, silent operation and high-resolution real-time intelligence, powered by onboard artificial intelligence.”
