Marine engineering firm Halliday Engineering has formalised its partnership with specialist defence company Chief Fluid Systems.

The two Australian small to medium-sized enterprises have signed a new memorandum of understanding to collaborate on engineering, ship repair and fluid systems.

“Two trusted Aussie SMEs, combining strengths in engineering, ship repair and fluid systems; ready to deliver high-quality solutions across Australia and the Indo-Pacific,” Halliday Engineering said in a statement.

A Chief Fluid Systems spokesperson said the new partnership focuses on delivering high-quality engineering and fluid conveying solutions across Australia and the Indo-Pacific region.

“This collaboration brings together two trusted, Australian-owned and operated SMEs, each with a strong reputation for technical excellence, innovation and dependability.”

“Halliday Engineering, founded in 1852, is Australia’s oldest engineering firm, known for their expertise in ship maintenance, repair and industrial fabrication.

“Together, we are well positioned to support complex engineering projects that demand the highest levels of quality and compliance, at a time when sovereign capability, supply chain resilience and readiness are national priorities.

“We’re energised by the opportunities ahead and look forward to exploring new ventures and delivering high-impact solutions together.”

In April this year, Halliday Engineering announced the successful delivery of three new bow ramps for the Australian Defence Force’s landing helicopter dock landing craft.

Halliday Engineering was engaged by Navantia Australia to manufacture the equipment and support frames in NSW and the bow ramps were designed to be fitted to the ADF’s amphibious mechanised landing craft and facilitate the delivery of troops and equipment onshore.
