The Ukrainian government has announced the dynamic “Test in Ukraine” platform to allow defence companies to test their technologies in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov presented the Test in Ukraine platform, developed by the country’s Brave1 defence cluster, during a LANDEURO conference in Wiesbaden, Germany, this week.

The online platform is designed to actively engage partners in creating technologies that can change the course of the war in Ukraine by allowing foreign manufacturers of uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV), uncrewed ground vehicles (UGV), maritime drones, EW systems, and AI-powered products with a clear roadmap for testing their solutions in Ukraine.

The platform is designed to provide first-hand feedback from end users of the technology, fully equipped testing grounds where products can be trialled in combat-like conditions, protocols for improvement and validation of technologies as well as opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian manufacturers for joint production and faster deployment to the front lines.

“Manufacturers can test products on site, enabling real-time adjustments. Alternatively, they can entrust testing to Brave1, the cluster’s experts will independently conduct tests and provide partners with detailed result reports,” according to a statement from Brave1.

“Ukraine is the birthplace of defence innovation. It is where hands-on experience and cutting-edge expertise are being shaped; redefining modern warfare. And this is the place to test new technologies.

“We invite defence manufacturers to co-create the future of warfare with Ukraine; accelerating development, production, delivery and access to new markets.”

The testing will involve UAVs, UGVs, counter-unmanned aerial systems, lasers and EMW, comms and navigation, AI/ML, ammunition, naval drones, electronic warfare and signals intelligence, missiles and propulsion.
