Thales Australia has worked with the Department of Defence to deliver almost 4 million items to strengthen the firepower efforts at this year’s Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025.
The partnership has seen major logistical movement of critical ordnance across the country with around 300 pallets and 30 transport vehicles used to transport the items required by Defence.
As part of the multinational defence exercise, Thales Australia delivered small and large calibre ammunitions, demolition materials, pyrotechnics, tools and equipment to Australia and allied nations. Explosive ordnance supplied during the exercise included those used for live-fire and manoeuvre exercises.
“Thales Australia’s Explosive Ordinance Services staff working with Defence have a crucial mission – delivering a customer-focused supply chain powered by training, data and digital technology,” Thales Australia and New Zealand chief executive officer Jeff Connolly said.
“This large-scale logistical mission underscores the company’s strategic role and laser focus. We don’t just deliver explosive ordinance, we deliver trust, precision and reliability, alongside our defence force partners.”
The major logistic and strategic effort to deliver, store and ensure the quality of items required by Defence required strategic operational coordination from eight Defence Explosive Ordnance Depots (operated by Thales) nationwide to 17 different delivery points, according to the company.
