Lockheed Martin Australia has signed a sponsoring partnership with Keith Payne VC Veterans Benefit Group to support veteran wellbeing programs in the Shoalhaven area.
Lockheed Martin Australia has signed a four-year sponsorship agreement with the Keith Payne VC Veterans Benefit Group to support mental health and wellbeing for veterans in the Shoalhaven area.
Over the four-year period, Lockheed will provide $55,000 in funding to assist in sustaining social inclusion, health and fitness activities and programs that aim to support veterans’ physical and emotional wellbeing following service.
Rick Meehan, chairman of Keith Payne VC Veterans Benefit Group, said the sponsorship will have an “enormous impact” on their capacity to deliver a range of initiatives to the veteran community in Shoalhaven in the south coast of NSW.
“The Keith Payne VC Veterans Benefit Group runs a broad range of initiatives to support the wellbeing and connection of veterans in the Shoalhaven, including Walk to Talk, Veterans’ Health Week, Digger Day, Vitamins for Veterans, commemorative services, and newer initiatives such as our Martial Arts and Music Programs.”
“We also host Veterans Corner gatherings, park clean-ups, military funeral tributes, and the Veteran Oral History Program, ensuring veterans’ stories are preserved and celebrated,” he added.
Lockheed Martin has previously aided in a foundational sponsorship in which a range of positive results occurred for the benefit group, with the number of programs available doubling and hundreds of veterans engaging in these programs every week.
“We welcome this further commitment from Lockheed Martin Australia, which will be vital to sustaining our existing programs and expanding support to meet the growing health and wellbeing needs of veterans in the Shoalhaven over the next four years,” Meehan said.
Lockheed Martin Australia and New Zealand chief executive Warren McDonald said they recognise the importance and value of veteran programs and how they can help to amplify and strengthen these.
“We recognise the vital contribution veterans make to our communities and workforce, and we’re proud to help strengthen the programs that support their ongoing wellbeing,” McDonald said.
“This continued partnership reflects our broader mission to invest in initiatives that build resilience and connection across the communities where we live and work.”
