A new naval and nuclear engineering consultancy, Naval Solutions Australia, has been launched in South Australia to strengthen national sovereign capability and readiness for nuclear-powered submarines.

A new naval and nuclear engineering consultancy, Naval Solutions Australia, has been launched in South Australia to strengthen national sovereign capability and readiness for nuclear-powered submarines.

The subsidiary of Naval Solutions Limited UK will be based in Adelaide under support from UK nuclear experts.

The Australia-based consultancy is expected to provide advisory and technical assurance services such as independent nuclear safety advice, safety case development, regulatory compliance support and risk assessment to strengthen Australia’s naval-defence and AUKUS efforts.

 
 

Services from the new specialist naval-engineering and nuclear-assurance consultancy could include independent nuclear safety assurance and advice, nuclear safety case development, regulatory compliance and support, nuclear siting and risk-to-facilities assessment, systems-engineering and integration support, nuclear training building sovereign nuclear capability in Australia as well as technical governance and assurance services to enable confident decision making in high-consequence environments.

“The launch of Naval Solutions Australia is an important milestone in our global growth and a clear demonstration of our commitment to Australia’s naval-defence future,” Naval Solutions UK director Nick Dunsby said.

“Establishing a permanent presence in Adelaide ensures we can work side by side with local partners, government and industry to deliver the highest standards of safety, engineering and program excellence.”

NSA combined with NSL UK will offer comprehensive technical, regulatory and safety support across the full life cycle of naval programs from concept and design through to operation, sustainment and disposal.

Naval Solutions Australia can support government, industry and defence partners to deliver safe, effective and sustainable outcomes, according to the company.
