Nova Systems has revealed that it has been selected for the Counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems Services Standing Offer Panel as part of the Department of Defence’s Project LAND 156’s Line of Effort 3.
Listed as a Category 1 partner, Nova Systems’ inclusion in the panel will see their site analysis, risk and threat assessment, and design solution strategies being suggested as valuable assets to implement into the LAND 156 project.
“Nova Systems is a leader in national safety and security focused on keeping our communities and critical infrastructure safe,” Nova Systems CEO Dean Rosenfield said.
“Nova develops Australian-owned, nationally controlled and independently assured mission systems that can operate across Defence, emergency services and civilian domains.”
The counter-drone panel seeks to promote a more practical, expert based way of increasing the counter-small unmanned aerial systems (C-sUAS) solutions Australia is continuing to implement into its defensive strategy. It seeks to support the Department of Defence and other government bodies with industry expertise from 23 companies in the counter-drone field.
Ultimately, the panel aims to provide the best insight into enhancing Australia’s ability to “detect, deter and respond” to drone threats.
“We are growing as an Australian mission systems integrator offering scale and deep expertise in complex Defence systems and mission assurance,” Rosenfield said.
“We are pleased to support the Australian government’s strategy to address evolving threats posed by small drones.”
Project LAND 156 aims to acquire and establish Australia’s sovereign C-UAS capabilities to address the changing nature of warfare and increased threat of drones. Over $1.3 billion has been allocated to the C-UAS acquisition across a 10-year period.
