Babcock Australasia has announced the resignation of its chief executive officer, Andrew Cridland.
The company said in a statement that Cridland resigned to “pursue other interests and prioritise time with his family” after over 10 years with the company and nearly three years as CEO.
“Andrew has been a valued member of Babcock Australasia and on behalf of the company, I thank him for his commitment throughout his almost 11 years of service,” said Babcock Group CEO David Lockwood.
“We wish him all the very best for the future,” he added.
Over his time with Babcock, Cridland has served as chief financial officer (CFO) for aviation, and later for the whole company. He was previously financial controller for Greencap and Shell.
“Leading Babcock Australia & New Zealand has been one of the great privileges of my career,” Cridland said on LinkedIn.
“The work we do – supporting the safety and security of our communities – truly matters, and I leave knowing the business is in excellent hands.
“Having had the opportunity to serve in both CFO and CEO roles across complex and purpose-driven organisations, I look forward to whatever the next chapter brings.”
Babcock Australasia’s chief of staff, Leah Grantham, will immediately serve as acting CEO while recruitment processes are underway.
“Leah’s background positions her strongly to lead the company in this forthcoming period, through an exciting window of growth and opportunity in Australia and New Zealand, as the defence industry plays an increasingly important role in supporting the safety and security of the Australasian region,” Lockwood said.
