Rotron Aerospace has announced the completed acquisition of Ondas, an autonomous systems company.

The company said the acquisition is set to strengthen their position in delivering unmanned and autonomous systems across the United Kingdom, as well as NATO allies.

Securing Ondas will allow the company to continue developments of long-range platforms and proprietary propulsion systems that can be integrated across existing platforms to deliver optimised “range, value, scalability and operational resilience”.

Founder and chief technology officer of Rotron, Gilo Cardozo, said this is a “defining moment for Rotron”.

“Joining Ondas gives us the scale, reach and resources to accelerate the development and deployment of our technologies for defence customers in the UK and across allied markets.

“Rotron’s mission, team and engineering culture remain unchanged, this partnership allows us to move faster, deliver more capability, and expand our impact in support of the UK and its allies.”

The deal is expected to strengthen Rotron’s role in sovereign capability development and support greater participation in NATO and allied programs. It also provides the scale to accelerate deployment of its systems and pursue opportunities in international markets.

“Rotron’s propulsion and aircraft engineering capabilities represent a critical addition to our autonomous systems platform,” said CEO and chairman of Ondas, Eric Brock.

“Their technologies expand the endurance and operational reach of next-generation unmanned systems while strengthening our position within the UK and NATO ecosystems.”
