A new workforce/capability firm has launched in Canberra, determined to support the defence and space industry across Australia and the United States.

Shadowgate Partners announced its launch this week, positioning itself as a specialist provider of cleared workforce and technical expertise for mission-critical environments across Australia and the United States.

The company will operate from offices in Canberra and Northern Virginia, deploying personnel to support both domestic programs and international requirements across allied networks.

Founder Daniel Newberry said the company was established in response to the growing need for security clearances in the workforce, most notably in defence, and that Shadowgate will ensure that missions are not “constrained by clearance, operation conditions and program sensitivity”.

“The environments we operate in are defined by constraint – whether that’s clearance, location or operational sensitivity,” Newberry said.

“Shadowgate Partners has been established to enable organisations to access cleared workforce and trusted expertise in environments where reliability and performance directly impact mission outcomes.”

Shadowgate Partners said it will focus heavily on ground systems and remote infrastructure, such as satellite ground station operations, an area of growing strategic importance as governments expand their space-based capabilities.

The company also confirmed it will support programs across both CONUS (continental United States) and OCONUS (overseas) environments, reflecting the increasingly globalised nature of defence operations and collaboration among allied nations.

The company has further established a strategic council made up of senior figures with experience across defence, intelligence, procurement, systems engineering and secure infrastructure.

The group includes former government and industry leaders and is intended to provide operational guidance aligned to complex, high-security programs.
